Assistant Nurse Manager/interim Manager in Ob/gyn Emergency Room
Manages 7 bed specialized OB/GYN Emergency Room with 24 hour OB/GYN Hospitalist coverage caring for women experiencing acute obstetrical and gynecological conditions for pain/bleeding in early pregnancy, preterm labor, antenatal conditions, pelvic pain/PID, STDs, abnormal vaginal bleeding, breast condition, post op surgical complications, and urological conditions. Also responsible for triaging pediatric and non-OB/GYN patients to Main ED when presenting to the OB/GYN ED in keeping with EMTALA triage guidelines.
- Responsible for providing leadership, financial management and performance of processes related to nursing practice, utilizing best practice guidelines, evidence based practice, EMTALA and Joint Commission Standards
- Under management of unit, admissions grew from 600+ per month to 900+ per month over last three years. Responsible for increasing core staffing metrix/hires due to increased growth of department. Worked closely with OB Hospitalist, Pediatric Hospitalists, and Main Emergency Department staff coordinating care and processes.
- Chairperson for Employee Advisory Committee: Appointed in 2015 as chair for Centennial Medical Center reporting to facility CEO and VP for Human Resources along with other senior leadership regarding projects and processes to be implemented under committee's direction. Served as Employee Advisory Committee member during 2014.
