Wire Technician
Completes Very high bit-rate Digital Line Subscriber (VDSL) circuits terminated at customer's premise to the Residential Gateway/Modem. Installs and Repairs/replaces copper cabling such as CAT5, CAT6, Coax, Low Voltage Twisted Pair, and Quad telephone wiring in the customer's home and in the field. Installs and repairs Fiber Optic Cabling, making splices, and crimping connectors for termination at customer's premise. Installs satellite communication equipment including "peaking" satellite dish for optimal signal strength. Communicates with and educates customers in the use and functionality of equipment and services. Maintains and stocks company owned vehicle with necessary equipment and consumables.
- Maintained "High Performer" rating in last 5 consecutive months based on company generated and tracked metrics on efficiency and quality
- Completed a ten week telecommunications course including fiber optics, satellite installation, and safety
- Possesses strong communication skills as required to communicate with and educate customers
- Uses Work Flow Manager software to complete jobs, order materials and submit various maintenance requests.
