Peer Support Specialist Resume Examples

Peer Support Specialist Resume Examples

Peer Support Specialists are folks who have progressed in their own recovery from alcohol or drug abuse or a mental disorder and are willing to self-identify as peers in order to assist others who are experiencing similar dependencies or disorders. Resumes in this field highlight such responsibilities as providing support, advocacy, and encouragement to consumers; and collaborating with families, community resources, community providers, and teams to develop, review, and monitor consumer's treatment. While no formal education is required to become a Peer Support Specialist, example resumes show that applicants must meet government and state certification requirements before they can proceed.
