Compensation Managers, also referred to as Compensation and Benefits Managers, design, oversee, and implement a firm's compensation and benefits programs. Skills relevant to this position and found on applicants' resumes include designing targeted incentive plans for manufacturing and distribution operations; implementing new sales incentive plans; and managing executive pay programs, including phantom stock, long-term incentives, and non-qualified deferral programs. A bachelor's degree is usually required for this position, though sample resumes show that employers may also show preference to those who possess significant experience, a master's degree in Human Resources, or an advanced Human Resources certificate.
