Inspect work pieces for defects, and measure work pieces to determine accuracy of machine operation, microscope, x-ray, met-cal machine, templates, or other measuring instruments and machines.
- Observe machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunctions, adjusting machines as necessary. Remove finished work pieces, restock feeders with materials, or to change tooling, setup, or work piece placement, according to required machining sequences.
- Read blueprints or job orders to determine product specifications and tooling instructions and to plan operational sequences.
- Verify parts are labeled with the correct part ID number, inspect the component part to match it up with label's description, and verify labeled with compliance of part, with proper handling requirements, with the quantity amount, with the received-in date, and the last date it was opened/counted, also make sure parts are labeled with the lot control number if applicable.
- Check to ensure each job has correct solder paste type, and each work piece have an accurate paste amount, and precise placement in all required locations before starting the placement of components.
