Patient Care Assistant
Primarily perform CNA duties on surgical unit; monitoring pt. status, Cerner documentation, maintenance & operation of medical devices, vitals, ADL's & hygiene, comfort care, pt. education, pt. transportation, pt. handoff, non-pharmacological pain control, precept new PCA's, facilitate pt. discharge, and collaborate with health care team
- Also float to Neuro PCU & CVPCU, ICU, Med/Surg, and OR
- Active in client safety & satisfaction meetings, continuing hospital workplace education, and participate in workplace efficiency/cost saving measures (LEAN)
- Follow all policies, protocols, and standards of practice to uphold patient safety, autonomy, satisfaction, and patient education throughout the care continuum
- Utilize and advocate for proactive measures to avoid hospital acquired illnesses, injuries, or avoidable errors to ensure reimbursement, facility accreditation & reputation, and most importantly patient wellbeing and satisfaction.
