Maintain Records HR Representatives are responsible for creating, maintaining, storing, securing and destroying employee records. All the paperwork and documents pertinent to an employee such as, applications, tax forms, benefits paperwork and personal data is gathered by the HR Representative. All changes or updates to paperwork must be added to the file and the HR Representative must maintain an efficient storage process. Because of the sensitive or confidential data contained in most employee records, HR Representatives must ensure the files are secure and safe from theft or tampering. They are also in charge of record retention schedules and must destroy records when they are no longer relevant.
Provide Benefits Consultations Many HR Representatives will work closely with employees regarding their benefits and compensation options. Employees are often directed to their HR Representative when they have questions regarding their benefits or if they need assistance completing their benefit paperwork. HR Representatives may also provide recommendations to management regarding benefits and pay scale in order to attract a worthy and competitive workforce.
Participate in Recruitment and Hiring Recruiting is often a duty of the HR Representative.
