Hired as a consultant to manage the on-site construction of a 38,000 sf mixed use project in downtown Rockville, MD. The $6.5 million urban infill project included underground parking, ground floor retail and office space, constructing a new street and intersection, on-site and off-site utility connections, green roof and a bio-retention pond.
- Successfully managed the complex phasing and jobsite logistics associated with a tight building footprint, poor soil conditions and the changing environmental conditions to complete the project on schedule.
- Proactively worked with the client, subcontractors and the design team to identify and resolve design issues before they impacted the project. Coordinated with subcontractors and the architect to efficiently route the incoming utilities.
- Developed an alternate method to excavate and place the formwork for a deep excavation for the building's foundation. This approach reduced the project schedule by 6 weeks and saved both the client and the contractor several hundred thousand dollars.
- Consistently reviewed the subcontractors work to make sure that it conforms to the construction code, contract design specifications, and the expected level of quality and project schedule.
