Volunteer Recruiter/construction Site Supervisor/gift in Kind Associate
Provided clear direction and leadership to manage the Home Preservation Program, which is a free to low cost program that utilizes skilled volunteers to complete exterior home repairs such as, roofing, front and back porch remolding, new windows and doors, etc. My responsibilities included - Inspection of homes to develop the scope of work, create material list, purchased supplies/material, recruited team of volunteers, managed volunteer team, ensured projection completion and on site volunteer safety and training, assured volunteers had adequate tools necessary to complete project, and utilized my carpentry skills as needed. In 4 months 6 large projects were completed.
- Implemented and managed the 2014 Habitat for Humanity Home Builders Blitz Build program, which is a continuing program through Habitat for Humanity's National's office that allows affiliates to participate with the local construction profession to build a home in a week. Completed and submitted all program applications for approval through HHI. Recruited a team of 12 construction industry professionals to work together by forming a leadership committee, which in return recruited several local builders that are volunteering their time and efforts to help with project completion, Conducted several leadership meeting to discuss time line and tasks.
- Worked with the Volunteer Coordinator and Developed Director to find volunteers and corporate groups for construction activities. Helped develop a team of individuals to insure onsite recycling as well as warehouse and jobsite organization. Recruited 12 skilled volunteers to assist with construction totaling over 130 volunteered hours.
- Raised $6,200 in gift in kind donations which included free and discounted labor provided by construction contractors, free and discounted building materials from construction suppliers, 200 free bars of chocolate from Saykllys Chocolates in Escanaba MI, Discounted service of 50% on floor refinishing on HHL office.
- Developed and maintained over 20 new relationships with local business's introducing them to [company name] and sharing how we can work together by assisting HHL with their services to help HHL accomplish their mission of providing safe, decent, and affordable housing to people of low income interested in becoming future homeowners.
