Group Director of Construction and Procurement
Hold full P&L responsibility for all construction and procurement operations across company's four divisions, including Vons, Phoenix, Denver, and Texas. Provide strategic, tactical, and execution leadership for new store concept development, architectural design, project management, new construction, and remodeling. Manage store maintenance and repair initiatives. Direct procurement of all store fixtures and equipment for entire company with locations throughout the United States and Canada.
Staff: 50-60 with 4-5 direct reports. Budget: $250M+ capital and $100M+ maintenance and repair annually.
- Spearheaded on-time, within $5B budget construction and roll-out of Safeway Lifestyle store format in more than 1K stores. New format delivered double-digit same-store sales growth.
- Led build-out of 94 new stores and completion of 531 store remodels by successfully managing capital construction program across four separate divisions.
- Partnered with CEO to develop Safeway Wellness Center concept and personally led $750M implementation in 1,100 stores within one year.
