- Monitor the propane tank percentages of over 200 districts across, Florida, Georgia, and Alabama and based on previous and current usage, special requests, or forecast weather conditions, plan distribution of transport loads as necessary to maintain optimal inventory levels. Ensure that the needs and requests of retail, wholesale, retail customers, and outside trade customers are met or exceeded.
- Collaborate with the supply department to ensure that the most cost effective supply points and routings are used, thereby passing the savings on to districts and ensuring driver hours are utilized as efficiently as possible.
- Ensure adequate supply is available at all rail terminals and adjust the schedule accordingly in the event of any disruptions.
- Strive to maintain a minimum loaded to empty mile ratio of greater than 50 percent.
- Manage a combination of roughly 25 company drivers and owner operators. Promote a culture of world class safety and compliance through safety oriented messages that are transmitted on a daily basis, analysis of recorded incidents received from cameras in the drivers’ trucks, and review of driver logs.
- Work equally with each driver to make sure that company policy is implemented and enforced, and administer disciplinary measures when necessary.
- Maintain positive and mutually beneficial working relationships with outside carriers and utilize their services when additional lift is needed.
- Keep accurate records of drivers’ load assignments to ensure that mileage and preferential runs are all assigned with complete impartiality and equality.
- Serve as on call person for after hours issues including but not limited to, no holds, breakdowns, illness, or accidents. Manage incidents to prevent supply disruption without compromising safety.
