Special Educator, Self-contained Classroom Teacher
Collaborate with teachers, paraeducators and various service providers that include speech therapist, occupational therapist, and school social worker for students with autism, specific learning disabilities, ADHD, speech impairments, emotional disabilities and intellectual disabilities in general and special education classroom settings.
- Delegate roles and responsibilities to support staff on a daily basis.
- Communicate with parents on a regular basis to build positive relationships and discuss student needs and expectations and celebrations.
- Implement differentiated instruction, including visual, auditory, tactile, and kinesthetic learning methods, to ensure a successful learning environment for students.
- Develop and implement individualized education programs for students receiving special education services under the categories of autism, specific learning disability, other health impairment and/or intellectual disability.
