Worked as a maintenance designer had 2 units, which I did all turn-around work and maintenance needs at Citgo refinery.
- All drawings were flange ends. There were no field welds allowed in units; therefore, was responsible for obtaining all field measurements needed to complete accurate piping drawings.
- Lead designer for more than 15 major turn-around's.
- Check all work of designers who work on assigned turn-around's.
- Work closely with plant personnel to insure all piping was complete and on sight before turn-around's began.
- Work closely with fabrication shops to see all piping was built as drawings shown. I would often visit fab shops to verify piping before it was sent to sight.
- Once piping was installed on turn-around I would walk out all piping projects and then create a punch list to see before turn-around crews were let go. All work was completed per plant standards.
- All piping errors by designers and construction crews were tracked with a variance report. While working at Citgo I was required to do at least 30 spools a month except during turn-around. In that time I have not had one variance report on file due to any drawing errors.
