Assistant Safety Officer, BP Global/gulf of Mexico Restoration
Assistant Safety Officer for BP Global for the Gulf of Mexico Restoration, reporting to the BP Senior Safety Officer for the Response, for all land based and marine operations in Mississippi, to include 75 miles of coastal shoreline and 5 offshore barrier islands. Total response effort in Mississippi reached $501million in 2010.
- Responsible for safety oversight involving more than 1800 personnel performing beach recon and cleanup activities, a fleet of 12 crew boats plus support vessels providing transportation for personnel, materials, and equipment, 3 decontamination sites for all size vessels and boom, and Emergency Management preparedness.
- Managed and supervised a team of 10 Safety Leads and Safety Advisors responsible for oversight, coordination, and implementation of BP, U.S. Coast Guard, and subcontractor safety programs.
- Managed and conducted subcontractor and site audits, incident investigations, and incident management.
