Cover breaking news and engage with social media followers, often in direct communication through Facebook, Twitter, email, and phone calls.
- Write, edit, and post up to 30+ articles a shift, covering local and national news.
- Schedule posts for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social media accounts as needed for the aforementioned articles. Post content on a timely basis in order to promote the website, talent, and various social media accounts.
- Work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive, high-pressure environment that can cover events on the scale of national breaking news that can reach viewers and readers as far as the other side of the globe. This included live-streaming content such as severe weather and tornado alerts using Facebook LIVE as well as other announcements of high importance.
- Work with station talent to develop and maintain a social media following, often directing how to properly build engagement on those accounts.
