Hardware Engineer

Working on verification of Ingress decision block in VOQ sub-system. Ingress decision block implements the main logic to split the incoming packets to different flows and avoid head-of-line blocking and achieve full throughput rate. Upon receiving packet from Bridge Logic, based on source port number, payload length, packet type, flow number and control information, several table look-ups are done and this information is used to make accounting and drop decision.

  • Own the verification and tape out checklist closure for this module. This module has been bug free for two versions in two different chips.
  • Implemented the entire verification environment in UVM for this module which had seven interfaces, memory model and reference model included.
  • The timing accurate reference model was written for this module in order to ensure the drop decision and occupancy count update between RTL and RM are in sync.
  • Implemented functional coverage and packet metric coverage. Improved test constraints to attain 100% coverage. Line and conditional coverage hit 98% in the first round of regression.
  • Wrote SVA for capturing corner case bugs in the complex decision logics.
