Pipefitter Helpers assist with all stages of the pipefitting process. This includes planning, layout, installation, testing, and repair of all piping systems.
A Pipefitter Helper is usually employed on a contractual basis and works under the direct supervision of a Pipefitter. They can work in factories, residential homes, commercial or industrial spaces and are often on call for emergencies. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the field for Pipefitters in general is expected to grow by 12 percent through 2024, which is faster than average.
