Project Manager/sr. Traffic Engineer

Managed a 15 person team of engineers and architects for I-15 design/build pursuit. Develop 30% traffic signal, ATMS, signing and striping, highway lighting, and landscaping plans for 24 miles of freeway with 11 interchanges with very little budget and a short time frame.   • Improved the traffic congestion on 5400 South. The existing 7 lane section experiences heavy AM and PM peak directional volumes. Designed a flex lane traffic signal control system to add an additional travel lane for the directional peak traffic volume. The additional 1800 vehicle per hour capacity reduced time and traveling expenses by $1000s.
  • Developed office filing procedures. The hard and soft copy filing system didn't follow any QMS pattern and was difficult to retrieve essential information. Followed established company ISO 9001 QMS procedures and instructed fellow employees on procedures. Received high complimentary remarks from UDOT QMS auditors.
  • Developed an Operational Safety Report (OSR) manual for UDOT. UDOT needed a guideline to direct the uniform data collection, analysis and report preparation of all the OSRs done state-wide. Studied the current procedures, documented individual steps and made revisions to the process. Reduced overall analysis and report preparation time.
  • Prepared the alternate truck route study of US Highway 40. All of the trucks servicing the oil field operations pass through down town Vernal creating traffic congestion problems. Used Quantm modeling to identify the final corridor alignment south of town. Delivered the project $25,000 under budget and saved the client $1000s in future construction costs.
