Senior Mechanical & HVAC Engineer

To protect against a worst case chemical dispersion a stack sizing calculation was performed. As well as equipment selection, stack air sampling and monitoring selection, piping and instrumentation diagrams, flow diagrams, and construction and procurement specifications. Used CAP88 software to demonstrate compliance with 40 CFR 61, the Clean Air Act standard which applies to U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) facilities that emit radionuclides to atmosphere. Also, used Excel spread sheet to calculate pressure loss and velocity using ASHRAE Fundamentals. An Excel XY scatter chart was used to plot fan and system curve.

  • Prepared several pump sizing calculations. Design Flow Solutions Software was used for pressure loss calculation. Excel was used to plot pump and system curves, and adjust pump curve per centrifugal pump affinity laws when motor speed (rpm) is changed.
  • Prepare unlisted component calculation to demonstrate hoses proposed for use qualify as B31.3 piping components.
  • Prepare several design change packages, pump and piping data sheets for H- Tank Farm piping and HVAC systems
